Wales saw its first national kendama competition with players travelling from across the UK to the town of Swansea. Hosted by The Climbing Hanger and Dice, the event was advertised as being the first tour stop to include both kendama and another activity — in this instance it was bouldering! We could not believe the turnout. Truthfully, we expected half the number of people who showed up, considering Swansea is a small town in the south of Wales and quite far from any other kendama hubs in the UK. Nevertheless, we had guys from Kendama London, Project ARK, Stay Honed plus many others on the day who were giving competitive kendama a go for the first time.
